“I can manage that.”
Like a kid on Christmas eve. Now he had a home cooked meal to look forward to when he got home after a twelve hour shift. There was nothing more disappointing than having to eat a microwaved frozen dinner after a stressful day at work. It was also disappointing to come home to an empty house as well, but he knew that wasn't why Halleigh was going to be there. Halleigh was going to be there long enough for the heat between her and Cajun to calm down - and for him to get the proof he needed that Cajun wasn't good for her. Nothing more than that.
“I have faith in you, Andy. If Jason Stackhouse can beat it, you definitely can.”
He couldn't help but to laugh at that, but it did serve the purpose she had meant it too. If Jason could kick the habit than he could, he was just as good of a cop without it. Besides, he knew that the V was changing him - and it wasn't for the better either. His attitude was changing, he was quicker to anger and when he didn't have the V he was a complete mess. It was time for him to get back to being just regular Sheriff Andy Bellefleur.
When she was ready to go he had followed her, the time passing by quickly. This was his first time at her place and he wondered if her 'dumb as rocks' roommate would be around. It would be easier if she wasn't, and as he pulled up behind her in front of her street he got out of the car and walked up to her.
"You gonna need any help? You really only need to bring some clothes and uh.. a toothbrush and stuff. I have pretty much anything else you're gonna need"

Had Halleigh known what Andy was thinking, she would have laughed- because she was thinking the exact same thing. For all of her wit and disaffected attitude, Halleigh was more lonely than she let others believe. Both of her brothers were married, one with kids, and her sister was… well, happy with her life if nothing else. Halleigh had always thought that by this point, she’d have something to show for herself… and she didn’t. She had a mess- a possibly abusive boyfriend, bills out of her control, and more deception than truth in her life, when all she wanted was someone to care for and come home to every day. She had a feeling that the next few days with Andy was just going to intensify that longing.
It didn’t take long to get from Merlotte’s to her condo, and Halleigh did a quick scan of their driveway to discern that Livy wasn’t home. Her roommate never parked in the garage, possibly because she suspected it was haunted- but Halleigh had never bothered asking beyond that. It was already too weird.
"You gonna need any help? You really only need to bring some clothes and uh.. a toothbrush and stuff. I have pretty much anything else you're gonna need"
“No, I can manage, but you’re welcome to come in. Livy isn’t home.” She shrugged and dug her keys out of her purse, heading up the short walkway and into their apartment. It couldn’t be more obvious that two exactly opposite people lived in the apartment- and which side was Halleigh’s. Livy’s areas were bright yellows and oranges, cluttered to the point of disaster, and positively littered with more crosses than a Texas hooker had fake jewelry. Halleigh’s side was tidier, in muted purples and creams. “Make yourself at home, I’ll only be a few minutes.”
She went into her bedroom, pulling an overnight bag out from under her bag and tossing a few pairs of jeans and some shirts into it, as well as pajamas. A quick jaunt to her bathroom had her toiletries, and she added a few more personal items that would make her feel more at home. She zipped the bag closed and picked up the last thing- a small, potted cactus her sister had given her for reasons Halleigh could not fathom- before heading back to the living room. “All right, I’m ready.”

“No, I can manage, but you’re welcome to come in. Livy isn’t home.”
Andy still hesitated at first, clearing his throat as he finally nodded and followed her to her apartment. This was his first time being invited into a woman's home so that she could pick up things to stay at his place. Reality kicked in and it was almost too much for Andy to take on at that moment.
“Make yourself at home, I’ll only be a few minutes.”
"Uh, right. I'll do that"
Oh boy. Andy took a seat on the couch, looking around the apartment two very different girls lived in. He was a bit leery of Olivia's side of the apartment and he felt more at home on Halleigh's side. There were so many bright colors on Olivia's side that it made his eyes burn, the overloaded crosses made him feel like he was in overly-obsessed fan girl's room - only she was obsessed with Jesus.
“All right, I’m ready.”
"Your roommate is rather... eccentric."
He had to comment as he rose to his feet and lead her out the door.
"Are you going to leave her a note or something? Tell her you are visiting family or something? Wouldn't want her to worry and call well.... me, to find you"
Wouldn't that be ironic...

"Your roommate is rather... eccentric."
Halleigh looked up from the mini cactus in her hand and blinked at Livy’s couch as if seeing it for the first time. “You could say that,” She agreed. “She’s saving herself for Steve Newlin or something like that- she talked the guy at the shooting range into selling her the cardboard cutout of him that they had in their window.” It would have been downright creepy if Livy seemed to be able of thought patterns beyond that of an eight-year-old’s. As she was, it barely made Halleigh roll her eyes- Livy was Livy, and overall, she was harmless.
"Are you going to leave her a note or something? Tell her you are visiting family or something? Wouldn't want her to worry and call well.... me, to find you"
“She probably won’t even notice I’m missing.” Halleigh shrugged, placing the cactus on the counter and shrugging her bag’s strap back onto her shoulder. She opened one of the drawers and pulled it out, rifling through it until she found a piece of paper and a pen, She scribbled that she was going camping with her brother- at least Will could take care of himself if Cajun somehow found the note and showed up. Will lifted weights six nights a week- Cajun wouldn’t stand a chance.
That accomplished, she picked up the plant once again and looked up at him. “I think we’re good to go now.”
She followed him outside to her car and loaded her stuff into it, following him all the way to Belle Reve, though she knew the way even without him, courtesy of having grown up in Bon Temps. It wasn’t like Belle Reve, in all its huge, somewhat run down but still dignified glory, was something a person could just overlook. The lands that accompanied it originally were bigger than Bon Temps itself- but Andy’s family had been selling it off bit by bit, even before he was even alive. Her own mother had wanted to buy some of it before she died, but her father had told her no.
Halleigh parked her car inobtrusively next to his and got out, once again claiming her things as she waited for him to open the door.
