[DRAMATIS PERSONAE]
Name: Tara Mae Thornton.
Nicknames: Just Tara or, by Naomi, 'Toni'.
Gender: She's a female, obviously.
Age: Twenty-six.
Date of birth: Month, day, year
Blood status: She's a human, and would prefer to stay that way.
Play By: Rutina Wesley.
[THE MASK]
Hair color: Her hair color was brown for the longest time, though she dyed it black last year.
Hair style: She usually prefers to have it in multiple braids, but has changed to straightening it. It is quite long, and she loves it.
Eye color: Brown.
Height: 5 feet, 5 inches.
Weight: 130 pounds; however, it's mostly because of muscle mass rather than fat mass.
Build: Tara is very muscular; she has strong arms, legs, and a toned stomach. Because of her new profession, being a cage fighter, she barely has any fat or flab on her body.
Fashion: She enjoyed wearing tank tops with jean shorts while living in Bon Temps. However, after she left, her style changed to henleys, jackets, t-shirts, hoods, and of course jeans. She still prefers to wear darker clothing.
Distinguishing features:
[INNER THOUGHTS]
Overview: During her like in Bon Temps, Tara was a very cynical person, mainly due to her abusive background. Yet, she was also the smartest and could be found reading at her jobs. She taught herself how to mix alcoholic drinks, and could diagnose a medical condition just by looking at it. She also possessed a quick wit and a dry sense of humor, often getting herself fired from jobs because of these traits. In saying that, she had very few friends because most people were scared of her or didn't like her. She is very defensive about civil rights, and often stands up for black people.
Ever since her move to New Orleans, she has become a significantly gentler and happier person. But, she lies to her girlfriend, Naomi, and has said her name is Toni. Regardless of her personalty change, she can still be quick witted and outspoken, often avoiding situations that put her in danger. Naturally, her job as a boxer does not count because she is able to get her anger out.
Likes: Naomi; she is glad to have found a person that is relatively normal. As far as she knows, Naomi is not a vampire or a shapeshifter.
Boxing; it helps get her anger out.
New Orleans; she thinks it's much better than Bon Temps and loves her new life there.
Sookie; her best friend. She was relieved when she found out that Sookie had returned, though lied to Naomi and said she was going to her grandmother's funeral.
Lafayette and Jesus; they indirectly helped her come to terms with her sexuality, and she loves being around them.
Dislikes:Her past; this is part of the reason why she basically rebooted and became a new person. She does not like to talk about her past and prefers to live in the present.
Vampires; this is a no brainer after what she went through with Franklin, and the other past of why she rebooted. She'd had enough with the Bon Temps shenanigans after nearly getting killed while dating him.
Racist people; though she doesn't go off on a rant about them anymore, she does feel sorry for them.
Bon Temps; the only reason she returned to the small town was because of Sookie's return.
Strengths: Cage fighting; it's her vice and something she loves doing.
Calling out people; though she used to yell at them, she has resorted to calmly telling them how she feels sorry for their fucked up life, and attitude.
Weaknesses: Lying; she has made up a completely new story, and identity, so Naomi wouldn't find out about her troubled past.
Good food; namely ice cream, she loves eating as she knows she'll burn it all off in the cage. Though she doesn't stuff her face, she will eat unhealthy food rather than healthy food.
Fears:Losing Lafayette; he's the only family she's got left, after unofficially emancipating herself from her mother. She's glad he's no longer a drug dealer or addict, as that has gotten him in trouble in the past. However, she's worried about is being involved with the witches.
Naomi finding out her past; she had gone through such a huge effort to make sure her girl didn't find out about her. Tara knows Naomi could, but she isn't entirely worried about it.
[PERSONAL INFORMATION]
Job?: In Bon Temps, she was a bartender at Merlotte's for a while. After her departure, she worked odd jobs in different states until ending up in New Orleans as a cage fighter.
Pets: She doesn't have any pets, and doesn't plan on having one anytime soon as she doesn't think she'll be able to take care of it.
[HISTORY]
Tara lived with her mother Lettie Mae, who was described as a alcoholic turned fundamentalist who brought nothing but misery to Tara's life. As a child Tara would run to Sookie's house to get away from her mother's beatings. It was because of this and the fact that Tara accepted Sookie for who she was without dismissing what she was, a telepath, that the two became best friends. Despite enduring years of abuse, neglect, and disappointment from her mother, Tara still cared deeply about Lettie Mae's well-being. But, Tara was a very angry and wounded individual.
Eventually, Tara left her mother's house and moves into Lafayette's home. The discovery of a hidden web cam in his bathroom resulted in her moving out and into her own apartment. After her mother underwent an exorcism, Tara briefly moves back in with her, but then Tara is arrested for a DUI, so Lettie Mae kicked Tara back out. Tara was later bailed out by the mysterious "social worker" Maryann and she takes up residence at Maryann's luxurious estate.
Sam Merlotte, Tara's boss, and Tara explored the possibilities of a romantic relationship, but it never established, and before they can give it another try, Tara met "Eggs" Benedict Talley. "Eggs" also lives with Maryann and it is at the "social worker's" house that the two meet. Sensing that something was not quite right with the mysterious lady, Tara resist the temptation to live with them permanently and moved in with Sookie. However, Sookie went to Dallas, Texas and left Tara alone. A vulnerable Tara succumbed to the draw of Maryann and Eggs, but instead of moving in with them, Tara invited the pair to move into Sookie's. Tara and Eggs used this opportunity to get to know each other, and Tara even falls in love with him despite his questionable past. The relationship ended when Eggs is killed by Jason Stackhouse.
Tara then crossed paths with the sociopath, the vampire Franklin Mott. Franklin glamours and bites her, kidnapped her and held her bound in a bathroom, and took her to the Mississippi mansion of Russell Edgington. Franklin mixed romantic talk and the prospect of turning her into a vampire with coercive actions, while Tara attempted to soothe him with compliant words, as she plotted her own escape. She escaped him on her second attempt, and made it back to Bon Temps, where she got help by attending a rape survivors' group, which was led by Holly Cleary. Franklin confronted her once more in the parking lot of Merlotte's a few nights later. Franklin was also killed by Jason.
Once the two had cleaned up Franklin's bloody remains, Jason, who had been the object of Tara's affection since she was a little girl, took her back to his house to recover. They kissed, but then Jason confessed to being the one who shot Eggs. Tara left his place and went back to Merlotte's where she found a very angry-at-the-world Sam. The two end up spending another night together, and in the morning Tara felt a little less frayed around the edges. The feeling did not last, however, as Sam decides to reveal his shape-shifting secret to her. She leaves his house and goes back to her mother's house where she finds Lettie Mae in an intimate situation with the Reverend Daniels. It was all too much for Tara, and she leaves Bon Temps for destinations unknown.
After her departure, Tara became a nomad for some time by traveling to different cities in different Southern states, such as Houston and Santa Fe. This was until she settled in New Orleans, where changed her name to Toni and became a cage fighter. She and Naomi met at a fight one night, when Tara was watching rather than fighting, and Naomi took an interest in her almost immediately. Tara realized that she was, in fact, bisexual and the too began dating. When she got wind of Sookie returning, Tara drove back to Bon Temps, telling Naomi that she had to go to her grandmother's funeral in Atlanta. While there, she reunited with her best friend, cousin, and Jesus. She attended the witches' counsel, where she witnessed Eric's transformation of sorts. Before this, she believed witchcraft to be utter bullshit, but realized it to be true when Eric transformed right before her eyes.

[FAMILY]
Father: She does not know anything about her father, as he left her mother while the latter was pregnant with Tara. Because she is so happy, she does not want to find him, or even hear from him.
Mother: Lettie Mae Thornton; her mother is dead to her. She officially severed the ties after finding her mother in bed with the Reverend Daniels. Her mother used to try to get in contact with her, until eventually giving up when Tara began switching her name as well as the states she lived in. Because she's back in Bon Temps, she hopes she doesn't run into her mother.
Siblings: Tara was an only child.
Other: Lafayette; her only cousin who she loves dearly. She's very happy he's made something of himself in the year she's been away, and is also glad he's still with Jesus.
Ruby Jean; her aunt and Lafayette's mother. After seeing her in the hospital, Tara hasn't ever seen her again. Even though she hasn't told Lafayette, she doesn't plan on it either.

Roleplaying sample:
After only a few days, Debbie had been able to track down Sookie Stackhouse. It was most definitely a stroke of luck, and she had only been in the right place at the right time. If she hadn't heard about a "crazy telepathic waitress" while sitting in a shabby diner in Shreveport, she was unsure of when she would be able to track down the telepath. Of course, Debbie wasn't complaining about any of this, and was quite glad she was on her way to Merlotte's Bar and Grill. To the werewolf, even the name sounded stupid. She much preferred something original like Lou Pine's. At the thought of her favorite bar, Debbie shifted on the motorcycle seat. She hadn't returned there since her initiation, and didn't plan on it. Theoretically, she should have been the new packmaster of the Crew, as she had been engaged to Coot. However, Debbie was far too wild for the responsibilities that came with the position.
Tonight, the werewolf was wearing her typical brown leather jacket, black bandeau top, leather pants, and her boots. The night air was significantly cool for the summer, though this didn't impact Debbie's outfit of choice at all. Because she wanted to be the one that emerged victorious this time, she had put a pocketknife in her boot, cleverly concealed from view by her sock. She knew Sookie wouldn't have any warning of her arrival, considering she hadn't told anybody her plans when she left the diner. Of course, who would she tell? Even if the fangbanger had her vampires around, Debbie had lots of vampire blood in her system and a knife in her boot. In her opinion, she was completely invincible, invulnerable. This explained why she weaved dangerously through the cars on the highway, ignoring the looks she received for her lack of helmet and exposed torso. Anybody who knew Debbie also knew that she didn't care what other people thought of her; well, anybody that hadn't been in the pack.
She made eye contact with a trucker and her eyebrows moved upward on her forehead, not in acknowledgement but rather as if she was laughing at the fact that he was towing two racks of crushed and used cars. She smirked then, before turning away and narrowly hitting a Jetta. The horn blared and this only caused the smirk to pull more upward on her face. She then proceeded to make a huge point of speeding past the car, zipping in between the other cars. It was then that she saw another motorcycle on the road: the rider was properly dressed and his bike was much more bulkier than hers. With a shrug, she sped past him too an turned around to see that it was a middle-aged man as opposed to a twenty year old man. Hastily, she turned back around and crouched lower to the seat to make the bike go faster. If it hadn't been pulled up, her hair would have been billowing in the wind, most likely distracting the drivers.
Finally, finally, the she wolf merged off the highway and rode along a country road. The smell was familiar, since she had taken this route before the last time she had come to visit. In fact, she had driven past Merlotte's without a second thought of it. Now, however, she slowed as she spotted the dumpy houses in the distance; they were the tell-tale sign that the bar was coming close. She didn't want to frighten the blonde so the latter would drive home as fast as she could, though the chase would be fun for Debbie, so the werewolf idled and came to a spot a few meters from the parking lot. She hopped off the bike, propping it upright with the kickstand, and stretched her slender frame. The Busa wasn't the most comfortable ride, but it ran well and could do long distances. To Debbie, all were important, but the latter even more so.
She set off for the bar at a brisk walk, her footsteps silent. Her adrenaline began to rush as she was realized what she was doing, and a smile spread across her face. Revenge tasted so sweet. Crouching, Debbie turned into the drive, her heart racing and her mind reeling.
