The true death was one thing. Being tied up with silver and buried miles below several tons of cement was another. Fools they were, to think that this.. "underground" tome would hold him for one hundred years. Their underestimation of him would be their greatest downfall. He would see Eric and Bill facing a true death - after he drank every last bit of fairy blood from that quarter fae bitch Sookie Stackhouse. He would do it right in front of them, they took away his Talbot so he would take away her. And he would savor every moment of it.
He wasn't stupid. He saw the way they looked at her. Both of them. He couldn't move where he was, it was dark and it was cold. His hunger was so intense that once he freed himself he wouldn't care who the first human was - he would feed on them. Drain them, every last drop. Fuck one human, he was planning on feeding on a whole family - hearing their screams would satisfy him, surely.
His eyes were closed, barely dead that he was, his anger festering inside of him. The main thing that stopped him from trying to climb his way up through his tome? The fact that he had nothing to live for except for his own revenge. It hadn't been enough, he needed something to give him.. just a little extra push.

Magic. Magic was a curious thing. Russell dismissed witches, thinking that they were beneath him. Maybe if he had known back then that such a thing was possible he would of kidnapped a witch instead of putting his fist through a human's chest cavity. At this time however, Russell didn't realize it had been magic that brought Talbot back. All he knew was that he felt Talbot's essence and his eyes snapped open.
"Talbot!"
Russell was an old and a very powerful vampire, so much so that even Eric Northman underestimated the power he had. Enough power to crawl up from miles of cement with silver chains around him. They all underestimated him, the connection he had with Talbot - the one true thing he actually loved in all this world. Talbot was his truest strength and his truest weakness. And Talbot was alive again - Russell was sure of it.
It was like watching a scene from Buffy the vampire slayer, a hand shot through the ground and broke through its surface. Only it wasn't miles of dirt and a cardboard box this vampire climbed his way out of. The silver was still around him as he stumbled out and onto the cement. It stuck to him, clung to him, but as the night sky beckoned him and he smelled a human in the area a grin left his face.
The human had no idea what was coming as Russell attacked her from behind, sinking his fangs into her flesh. With one hand on her neck the other hand grabbed the silver that was still burning his flesh and threw it away. Now he was free, the human blood helping his body to heal quickly. He dropped the human to the ground, kicking her lifeless body to the side as a chuckle left his mouth and he extended his arms out to the world.
"Oh sweet sweet world, I am going to drink from your bowels and tear at your flesh. The gods themselves will weep! Sweet sweet world - Russell Edgington is back!!"
