There was only so far that Miso could go to avoid Richard, and Richard didn't make it an easy task. She had called in to work that day, her boss understanding enough to let her edit the final draft from home and email it to him. The news never slept, and neither had Miso. Though it wasn't a surprising considering what she had been thrown into, from getting closer to Gin to meeting Russell Edgington.
Last night had been a pivotal turning point for Miso. She had made love to Gin, essentially - no, not essentially, she had cheated on Richard. Though, she knew she had feelings for Gin when she agreed to 'give Richard a chance', so hadn't she been emotionally cheating on him from the beginning?
She knew Richard didn't love her, she wasn't even sure he truly cared about her. When he kissed her it was like he was kissing her because he could, not because he wanted to. When Gin kissed her... it was like the world slipped away and the only two in the room were them.
She had called Richard that afternoon, deciding there was no other choice after he had left the twenty second message on her voice mail. She had asked him to meet her here, at five sharp, a half hour before sunset. Miso had told Gin last night before he left that she would help him look for Talbot tonight but she also knew she had to break it off with Richard tonight, and for good.

Rich was pretty sure he could see the writing on the wall- he just hoped that Miso wasn’t actually that stupid to try it.
Things between them had been strained lately, to say the least, and for a long time Rich couldn’t tell why… but last night, Karen had come in babbling about some random story involving Miso and a vampire and who the hell knew what else, and Rich’s brain had been mulling it over ever since. Miso had made no secret of the fact she was perhaps a bit more pro-vampire than she let everyone believe, and that thought sickened Rich.
He hoped she knew what the consequences of breaking up with him were. He wasn’t like Cajun- Rich didn’t physically touch anyone out of anger, but his words and his manipulations did far worse. If Miso wanted to get rid of him, he’d get rid of her- as a girlfriend, as a friend, and especially as a coworker. Life for Miso was going to get a lot harder if she didn’t play by his rules.
Which made him wonder just what she wanted with him at Merlotte’s, anyway. It wasn’t a place Rich was very fond of- a lot of redneck hillbillys in plaid, getting loud and drunk- but he was more than willing to deal if it meant it earned him some brownie points. Rich was all about the brownie points and making people think that his ideas were their ideas all along… and he was about to make Miso do the same.
He walked into the bar and looked around before catching sight of her, going and joining her at the table. “Hey.”

She had heard him coming before he even approached the table, she just didn't think she would regret calling him to Merlotte's quite so quickly. Tonight was going to be the first night she was actually consciously planning on reading his mind. She wanted to be a step ahead, because from the beginning she was never sure of Richard's true intentions.
Her dark caramel hues matched his gaze as he joined her in the booth, the word “Hey.” leaving his lips. Well, this was odd, he seemed to know that something was up? Maybe it was because she had called in that day, or because they hadn't been spending as much time together. There was no way that Richard knew about Gin - Miso had been very careful in keeping Richard away from Gin.
She just didn't know if it was for Richard's sake, or for Gin's.
"Hello, Richard. Um.. did you maybe want to order something first?"
Miso was never really good at confrontation, and tonight didn't fair much better. She tucked her hair behind her ear, wondering if she should not bother telling him anything. But that wouldn't be right for Gin would it? Just how was she going to tell Richard?
